Master of Management

This Master of Management (MM) programme is primarily designed for a diverse student population including recent as well as experienced graduates from Management as well as non-Management areas. Leveraging a blended learning approach, the MM programme aims at introducing students to the management of organisations and developing transferable knowledge and intellectual skills which are keys to successful management of the private and as well as public sector organisations. The programme provides students an access to an appropriate higher degree programme in Management. The MM Programme will be taught in English on a full-time (one and a half years) and a part-time (two – four years) basis, beginning August of each year.


Format of Study

The Master of Management program will be offered in two different formats to suit the varying needs of students. The total credit requirement to graduate with the degree is 52 modular credits. The students can earn these 52 credit hours either in the full-time mode in 3 semesters or in the part-time mode in up to 5 semesters. Students would need to successfully complete 7 core modules (4 credit hours each) and 6 optional modules to graduate (4 credit hours each). A full-time student would normally take not less than 16 modular credits and not more than 20 modular credits in a semester. A part-time student normally takes at least 8 modular credits and not more than 16 modular credits in a semester. in general, students would need to earn the credit hours as shown below:

Admissions Requirements

For admission to the Master of Management Programme, an applicant must satisfy the following entry requirements

  • (a) At least a Second Class Bachelor's degree with Honours from Universiti Brunei Darussalam or a university or institution recognised by the Senate; OR
  • (b) A Bachelor's degree with Honours from Universiti Brunei Darussalam or a university or institution recognised by the Senate and at least three years of working experience at executive or management level;
  • (c) English proficiency requirement: an applicant must obtain at least C6 in English Language at GCE β€˜O’ Level, or a grade β€˜B’ in IGCSE English (as a Second Language) or an IELTS score of 6, or TOEFL minimum overall score of 550, or other recognized English proficiency tests as stipulated by UBD.

In addition to the above, an applicant may be required to undergo one or more entrance tests or interviews as deemed appropriate by the Faculty Board to determine his/her suitability to pursue the programme.
